My Favorite Hat...

Where to buy hats? Long ago you would buy your hat at a Millinery Shop where a professional hat maker makes and sells hats.
Love the details of this hat...
Oversized dangle earrings add a bit of shine...
Hats have been worn as an expression of individuality. They provide warmth from the cold on a winter day or shade on a sunny summer day. Hats are worn for special occasions, such as weddings or to support your favorite pro sports team.

Helen Kaminski Hat
Through the years I have collected a few hats, my favorite, the Helen Kaminski turned up brim hat with a black grosgrain Italian ribbon. I refer to this hat as my “Madeline Hat,” as in the children’s storybook Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans.

A sudden breeze...
My hat keeping me cool on a Sunny Summer Day.
Hat selections are endless today and available at just about any retail shop, online and even millinery shops. I think everyone should own at least one hat. I recommend you find the hat, which suits you and will add that extra flair to your style.

Shop your Closet...

You will find you already have the basics…

As children my sister and I would shop our closet as a form of entertainment. We would spend hours putting together outfits with our existing wardrobe.

So much to my delight, I think to myself, resurrect an old idea and apply it today. Our closets are overflowing with a mass array of clothing once coveted which may have loss it's zeal. Take a moment to take inventory, eliminate the worn pieces and other items, which no longer fit. You will find the cream will rise to the top.

Fitted White Blouse | Wide Leg Trousers | Pencil Skirt | Tuxedo Jacket | Sheath Dress | Pearl Studs | Pearl Necklace
 Black Pumps
Going through your closet usually happens when you make a new purchase. It sparks inspiration to incorporate your new find as often as possible in your wardrobe rotation. This same enthusiasm is necessary each time we say, “I have nothing to wear!” When you shop your closet, you will soon realize you already have the basics: white blouse, black blazer, black skirt, black trousers, basic black pump and of course a black sheath dress. If not, hurry to breathe new life into your wardrobe by adding these basics to your closet and enjoy the endless possibilities with your existing pieces.

When shopping your closet you will be in awe of your discovery. So go ahead, make use of all those scarfs, necklaces, handbags, earrings and family heirloom jewels. This will only cost you a little time and creativity.

Shopping for forgotten treasures in your wardrobe will have you walking away from your closet in style…

The Week Ahead...

I am planning and organizing all things essential and fun for the upcoming week:
Clients, lunches, and a birthday dinner with friends.

Comfort is key as I navigate through my day.  My personal favorite article of clothing to reach for is the quintessential dress. The dress is classic with a generous dose of femininity, comfort and always boost my confidence wherever the day takes me.

Prepared for anything in my Rebecca Taylor dress, Alice and Olivia shoes and my favorite accessories.

Enjoy your week ahead.  Remain on schedule and always arrive in style...

Open up to Lace...

Lace with it's weblike characteristic is beautifully created in a host of patterns and used in a multitude of mediums.  Lace lends itself to elegance and grace.

Earrings by Uno de 50 with green Swarovski Crystal.

Open lace work.

Sigerson Morrison gunmetal & suede ankle strap shoe.

This ensemble is bursting with lace. The lace is not disguising itself demurely, but taking center stage!

QVC - Gili Collection Lace Skirt and Top and David Yurman Ring.

The trending rich, dark, black skirt and top are from QVC - Gili Collection.  I LOVE how chic, current and oh-so-elegant
this look makes me feel.

Pleats, Yes Please!

Did you know... Pleats can be traced back to the chic and ever modern population of their time, the Egyptians. Pleats were worn as a sign of luxury.

Pour la Victoire Shooties
Pleats with their regal history have a flowing romantic synchronized dance choreographed much like the cascading waves of the ocean.  They are sharp, even structured, tailored yet with a sense of fluidity.

The flow and movement of pleats...

My vintage pleated skirt is the perfect staple to reach for when attending a summer wedding, outdoor party or for a night out...

Pleats gracefully dancing in the Summer breeze...

I love the movement of the pleats dancing in harmony ever graceful with infinite style...

Sunny Day Dressing...

Summer dressing is fun and colorful. I enjoy just popping one of my new favorite dresses and meeting friends for lunch and dining al fresco. Today I pulled my Donna Morgan bright yellow eyelet dress and paired it with an archive favorite JCrew necklace.

Rainy Summer Day Style...

Rain, rain, go away...just because it is raining doesn't mean you can't look chic and put together. My Coach rain coat and Kate Spade rain boots get to come out and keep me dry.

Added my Dogeared necklace to add a bit of sunshine to my look.

Having fun with your style regardless of the weather conditions.
