Invest in a Vest...

The time has come to invest in a vest this fall season! The vest influence from the 70’s shown throughout the Spring 2015 season continues into Fall 2015. The Vest has been reincarnated and updated with a trace of yesterday fringe and tunic length. New interpretations and embellishments to the classic vest include lux fabrications, a military/utilitarian update, vest hosting pockets, drawstrings, faux leather and faux fur.

This subtle piece adds dimension and interest to a simple blouse and trouser look. A basic dress is brought to life with the vest without adding bulk. The vest serves as a finishing piece much like a jacket or a blazer. The vest is an added layering piece you reach for throughout the fall weather transition and to enhance your winter looks.

As I peruse the line up of choices in stores and online, I shop my closet and find a few vest options from days gone by to be added to my wardrobe rotation. I have of course booked marked a few new versions and added them to my wish list.

So go out and get an updated vest. No not just a puffer version! A sleek new vest, a vest, which excites you and has you reaching for it time and time again to update your style.

Embrace the Full Eyebrow...

This year the full eye brow is B-A-C-K.  For years we have plucked and almost removed the eyebrow. The purpose of our eyebrow is to  not only help to keep sweat from our eyes, they are a large part of our personality. Fuller brows add animation, expression, and defines the shape of your eyes.

I remember during the disco era...Y-E-S, I lived and loved the disco era, it seemed we all tweezed our eyebrows to a virtual non-existence.

Then Brook Shields in the 80's made the full brow popular again. Today in 2015 we have Cara Delevingne with her bold brows.  Personally I have my brows tinted by Amanda at Apotheca Salon.  In between appointments I fill my brows in with powder using a brow brush to maintain fullness.

Updating my brows has brought about an over whelming response to the change.  It seems the fuller brow is a trend we can embrace to update our style.

This Week's Obsession - The Tie Front Blouse...

The "tie front blouse" sensation is back.  This timeless beauty is being featured by the likes of Calvin Klein, Victoria Beckham, and Lafayette 148 just to name a few.  It seems everywhere you look many designers are doing their own interpretation of this blouse; very popular in the 70's.

It makes me think, if only I had kept my tie front blouse from years ago, I would be set.  But alas, I am off to restock my wardrobe with this beautiful blouse.  I recommend you do the same.  The tie front blouse is classic, sophisticated and a powerful statement of style.

Colors, Colors, "Camo"...

We are well aware of the timeless classic fashion trends discussed throughout the media forums. Trends you are well familiar with such as the leopard print, "moto" or motorcycle inspired, and the fringe.  Then of course, each year we await the announcement of the Pantone color of the year.  The 2015 reigning color is Marsala.  This is a rich dark berry shade reminiscent of a handsome glass of red wine.

Although in my observation I seem to see a vast array of the muted fatigue green color.  The fatigue green brings me to proclaim, it seems there is an incognito trend lurking in the mix!  The Camouflage or "Camo".  Yes, Camo! L-o-v-i-n-g!  It is on everything from handbags, shoes, trousers, and jackets.  I can't seem to get enough!  It is reminiscent of the Hasbro GI Joe action figure of years ago. So we are GI Jane.

The Camo jacket below from QVC's  "Gili Collection" is one I will be rocking throughout the coming months. Love the utilitarian meets trend to add a striking new spin to the basic black trousers, denim, and skirts.

Although camouflage is synonymous with a means of concealment, we want to embrace and expose"Camo" as a classic trend by adding it to our ever evolving wardrobe & style.
